Dear Zoo ...

Dear Zoo ...

What an exciting key we found this week! It turned out that the longest silver key belonged to the zoo.  We thought it was a bit dangerous that this one had gone missing, what if the lions had escaped?
We enjoyed listening to the story and song 'Dear Zoo' although we thought we could do better so have written our own book.  We thought of lots of different reasons why we could not keep some of the animals as pets.
We know about where some animals lived in the wild and what they might need if they were in a zoo.  We put on our zoo keeper thinking caps and decided it was not a good idea to have the penguins and lions living in the same enclosure. We used the netbooks to help us plan our own zoo and think about which could live near each other.
We have been running our own cafe at the zoo and serving some very unusual food.  When Miss Stinton visited the cafe we had run out of chocolate flavour milkshake so she had to have sweetcorn flavour instead!
In Maths we have been counting and estimating and thinking about the words more and less.  We know that estimating means having a sensible guess.
