In our Science sessions today we investigated ways of slowing down a rolling Dragon's egg. We were baby sitting it and wanted it to stay safe. We tested different materials to see which let things roll fast or slow. We learnt that the push force was important and the friction caused on the surface.
Grass was the slowest surface and the table top the fastest.
Later we created different sized parachutes, just incase it fell.
We tested different shapes and sizes. After several cases of escaping eggs, we decided the round shape with the greatest width was the best. We timed how long it took the fake egg to float to the floor.
Here we are.
