Our magnificent visitors!

On Tuesday, we were extremely lucky to have a butterfly expert come to visit. With her, she brought lots of little fluttery friends to meet us! We had such a lot of fun learning all about butterflies, and even got to see them up close.

Our expert told us all about how caterpillars are born and grow. We learnt about what they might eat and where they may live. We had no idea there were so many different types! We thought it was interesting that some caterpillars are poisonous and have spikes.

In Art we have been learning about camouflage, and we spotted some interesting patterns on the butterflies wings. We thought this might help them to keep hidden from predators. Ask us about camouflage - we can tell you lots about it!

We really enjoyed our visitor coming in, and it was a delight to meet the butterflies - A big thanks to our butterfly expert! Now we know so much about these insects, we will be keeping our eyes peeled when we are out and about. Can you spot any?
