During February's RE Day we learned about the Parable of the Sower. We discussed the message in the parable and what it would look like in our times today. Firstly however, we unwrapped a' pass the parcel' present to discover our learning for the day. We puzzled on a riddle that spelt out PARABLE. After assembly, we acted out the story, learnt a repeating verse song about it and created a giant cross decorated in hearts. We did this to illustrate the message, which was to open your heart to let in good thoughts and ideas. Later, we created our own seed packets to map out the four parts of the story and gave our own meaning to each part. We scattered real seeds around the school telling the story as we went. Let's hope some fresh grass grows on our journey.
Our favourite part of the day was swapping shiny hearts as we said kind words about our friends in a closing circle time.
