Computing

Vision for Computing at Linton C.E.Infant School

At Linton C.E. Infant School we believe that Computing is an essential part of teaching and learning.  Computing is a life skill which will continue to evolve and when developed at an early age ensures that children are proficient and confident users of a range of technologies.  Our aim is to provide high quality and effective learning opportunities using a range of equipment which is integrated into all aspects of school life. This will help children to make links to the wider world and prepare them for the rapidly developing and changing technological world.

Aims

  • All pupils will be given opportunities to develop skills in ICT.
  • All staff to continually improve and develop their ICT skills through professional development.
  • ICT will be integrated throughout the curriculum to improve and support the way we learn and teach.
  • We will provide a progressive ICT curriculum which makes use of current technologies as they become available to us.
  • All pupils will be taught how to be safe and responsible online and have a positive attitude to working with others in the cyber world.
  • To use ICT to promote links with parents and the wider community.
  • To ensure appropriate and equal access to ICT for all children regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or ability

We recognise the significant impact on the ICT administration systems in our school and will use these systems to optimise the efficiency of the organisation and management of the school. We will use ICT applications in all aspects of school business and provide administrative staff with the appropriate training opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to do so.
