Music
At Linton C.E. Infants school we believe the teaching of music will inspire creativity, self-expression and curiosity for the subject. The children will learn about different musical concepts and have the opportunity to listen to and explore music through different musical activities.
All children will:
- use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes.
- play tuned and untuned instruments musically.
- listen with concentration and understanding to a range of high-quality live and recorded music.
- experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using the inter-related dimensions of music.
We are currently using ‘Charanga Music School’ as our scheme of work which provides teachers with week-by-week lesson support for each year group in the school. It provides engaging and exciting whiteboard resources to support every lesson and supports all the requirements of the national curriculum. Lessons also provide the opportunity for the children to play instruments. At Linton C.E. Infant School, we have fortnightly singing assemblies and opportunities to perform throughout the year.
